About this game

Build it, boost it, out-shoot it AIGEN ROBO is a 3D arena robot shooter fought with a machine you assemble yourself. Every machine is five slots. The Core sets HP, armour and poise. The Legs decide walk speed, dash and how high you actually jump. On top go three weapons: Gun, Bomb and Pod. 61 to 64 parts per slot, 308 in total. The combinations are not a number on a box — you feel the difference the moment you move. Swap the legs and your jump apex changes, your time to the ground changes, and the range you want to fight at changes with it. Then tune it on three axes — Poise, Output and Stride. Each is zero-sum: whatever you raise, you pay for in something else. Paint is set per slot. The moment your boost runs dry Air dashes and the Assault Boost draw on one boost tank. Keep running through the air and it empties — and it does not come back until you land. That is the opening your opponent is waiting for. Jump during an Assault Boost for a Boost Kick that knocks the target off balance; a machine whose poise gauge fills up takes a Break and cannot move. The CPU machines charge you with the same Assault Boost. Hold a lock and circle. Drop a bomb to cut off the retreat. This is a game won by position, not by trading shots. 56 missions, 10 arenas A 36-mission campaign fought across ten arenas — sealed cells with molten pools running through the floor, a high-rise plaza, a fenced-off defensive line. Seven of them carry cover that can be shot away, so the wall you were hiding behind lasts seconds, and on one of them lifts rise and fall. Past the campaign: sixteen Deep Trial missions, each with a boss waiting, and four Next Trial missions that each award a hidden part of their own. Fifty-six missions in all. Twenty bosses in all — four in the campaign, sixteen in the Deep Trials. Walkers that topple when you take out their legs, chargers that bury themselves in the wall, shelling rain, dives from above. Then Boss Rush: all twenty, back to back, for the best total time. Clear the campaign and two more things open: a hard remix of every mission you have cleared (every enemy an ace, tougher, on a shorter clock), and the Endurance Trial, which never ends — every wave you survive brings more enemies, and harder ones. Your best times against the campaign bosses, your Boss Rush total and your best Endurance Trial wave go to Steam leaderboards, and the top 20 of each are on the Leaderboard tab of the Records screen. Win, loot, rebuild Downed machines drop parts, across six rarity tiers from Common to Mythic. Buy, upgrade, sell, rebuild. Making the machine for the next fight is the loop this game is built on. Somewhere to test it, too: the practice room. Pick an opponent that holds still, one that only moves, or one that fights back, on any of the ten arenas, with no clock and no rewards at stake. A checklist walks you through the controls one at a time, from moving and locking on to the Assault Boost and the Boost Kick. Everything you do is kept on the Records screen, whose Achievements tab lists every achievement and what unlocks it. Four-way arena combat Offline, Arena puts you against three CPU machines on the arena of your choice, as a free-for-all or a 2v2 team battle. Last one standing takes it. Online versus and co-op over Steam Under Online on the main menu, for up to four players over Steam. Versus Arena: a free-for-all for up to four on any of the ten arenas, or a random one. CPUs fill the empty seats, and players can join a match in progress. Co-op Mission: up to four players against any one of the twenty bosses. The host can pick any boss regardless of their own progress, and the room waits until the host deploys. Enemy health scales with the number of players present. Rooms can be Public, Friends only or Private (invite only). Find one in the room list, invite Steam friends, or join by room code. Voice chat can be switched on in Settings (it is off by default). The host fights in the machine they built. Players who join fight in a prepared machine, and in co-op missions part rewards go to the host only. The AIGEN Project Humanity began the AIGEN Project to produce the strongest autonomous combat robot. The central intelligence, AI CORE, generates combat machines without number and sends them into an artificial combat zone — the Holosseum — to fight each other. You are one test unit among many, not a chosen one. The directive is the same for all of them: prove you are the strongest robot. Winners are given harsher trials. A short AI CORE system log arrives after every boss and at each milestone of the trials.
