The Rolling Curtain General, banished to the mortal realm, seeks fragments of the Glazed Lamp to restore his power and face the punishment of the Heavenly Court. Scattered across the mortal world, the fragments have transformed into demonic beings or merged into human society. Glaze Cup: Journey to the West is a single-player side-scrolling action roguelike set among humans, demons, ghosts and gods. The Rolling Curtain General, banished to the mortal realm, seeks fragments of the Glazed Lamp to restore his power and face the punishment of the Heavenly Court. Scattered across the mortal world, the fragments have transformed into demonic beings or merged into human society. Along the way, he confronts demons, monsters, humans and immortals, and encounters figures such as the Monkey King, Marshal Tianpeng and Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Changing battles and branching maps

The story spans 4 chapters, with over 20 boss battles and hundreds of weapons and magical treasures. Progress unlocks more combat styles and strategies. Each chapter has 1 main map and 2 branching maps; terrain and monster combinations change randomly across settings that include mountains, underground palaces and rivers.

Combat and village management

Build and manage a village alongside combat, using dozens of buildings for functions such as resource production, defense and living quarters. The presentation draws on traditional Chinese art, ink wash and shadow puppetry, with hand-drawn imagery and character animations, including 3D-rendered 2D and Spine portrait animations.
