Campaign and strategy

Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865) combines a real-time campaign with tactical battles. Choose a side in the American Civil War, manage your nation and armies, and pursue historical objectives from Secession through the end of the war. Muster troops, manage supplies, and use railroads to move and supply armies. The campaign also presents alternative-history possibilities, including European intervention or a different outcome in the 1864 presidential election.

Command and battle

Lay siege, raid, and blockade on land and sea, or use blockade runners to keep routes to Europe open. On historical battlefields, command battles that can last multiple days; use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, and commit reserves as reinforcements arrive. Manage hundreds of historical commanders with individual attributes and specializations, alongside infantry, cavalry, artillery, and historical order of battle. Monitor morale, fatigue, treasury pressures, and unrest as the war continues.
