Light your way through the dreams

In Photonic Distress, you wake inside an internal representation of your conscience. Explore dark, increasingly complex levels—described as dreams—and collect 100 memory fragments. Fire colorful photons from your Photon gun to light nearby areas. As you gather fragments, upgrades become available, including a flashlight attachment and a scan grenade that outlines the surrounding world and highlights points of interest. Collect all 100 fragments to open the final room and reach the end of the game.

Procedurally generated levels

A pseudorandom number generator shapes each run according to the seed you choose or generate. The seed determines the levels’ layouts and materials, as well as how many fragments appear in each level. Try different seeds or difficulties for different layouts. Levels grow in size as you progress, and barricades, traps and pickups can also appear.

Choose a difficulty

Choose from 4 difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard and Impossible. The level tiles have difficulty ratings from 1 to 10; ratings increase every 10 levels on Easy and every 2 levels on Impossible. Higher-rated tiles make levels trickier, while the selected difficulty also affects how quickly levels grow in size. This offer is a Steam activation key and carries the Region Free label.
