Shape a nation in a changing war

In Making History: The Calm & the Storm, guide one of eight nations—the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the USSR, the United States or China—through a researched World War II setting. Develop industry, infrastructure and the economy, manage trade and aid, and pursue scientific research as events and other nations’ agendas reshape the world from turn to turn.

Build forces and negotiate alliances

Plan multi-turn engagements where supplies, reinforcements and geography affect your approach. Use unit abilities, from armored blitzkrieg to strategic bombing, and research advanced military units. Form or break alliances, declare war and propose peace; your actions affect relations and other nations’ willingness to ally. The game supports simultaneous turn-based play and multiplayer with up to eight others; multiplayer requires an internet connection.

Explore historical scenarios

Choose from six scenarios covering moments such as the fall of France, Pearl Harbor, the D-Day invasion of Europe and the Sudeten crisis, or play the whole war. The game includes over 80 nations, each with detailed characteristics, and 800 or more regions featuring terrain, infrastructure and resources. An included Scenario Editor lets you modify scenarios or create your own. This offer is a Steam digital gift and carries the Region Free label.
