Androids against the machine lifeforms

In NieR: Automata, androids 2B, 9S, and A2 fight to reclaim a machine-driven dystopia. Humanity has been driven from Earth by mechanical beings, and the resistance sends android soldiers to battle the invaders. The conflict between machines and androids may uncover a long-forgotten truth about the world.

Combat, progression, and DLC challenges

Fight hordes of enemies and challenging bosses across open-field environments, switching between melee and ranged attacks, combining light and heavy strikes, and evading enemies. Collect different weapon types, level up, learn combat skills, and customize a loadout. Pods support combat with manual or lock-on attacks and can assist outside battle, including by letting the player glide; they can also be enhanced with new attack methods and variations. Beginners can choose Auto Mode for easier attacks and evasions. The included DLC adds three battle challenges at three colosseums, costumes for 2B, 9S, and A2, and the NieR:Automata meets amazarashi music video “Deserving of Life.” DLC content becomes available after progressing a certain way through the main story, and some main-story scenes prevent access to it.
