Command armies in East Asia

Set amid 16th- and 17th-century conflicts in East Asia, the game is a turn-based tactical and strategic simulation, focused primarily on Japan’s Warring States period and the Japanese invasion of Korea. Command armies with different tactical doctrines in historical battles or “what-if” skirmishes. In campaign mode, strategic decisions about terrain, manpower, supplies, attrition, sieges and economic damage affect the forces available for battle; battle results also shape unit strength and experience over time.

Battles, campaigns and skirmishes

Play historical scenarios or randomly generated skirmishes against the AI or another player. Skirmishes offer varied situations, including open battles, attacks on or defence of positions, reinforcements and flank marches; choose an army from the researched lists or let the computer select one. The game also features named generals who can affect their units’ combat and morale, six difficulty levels, a built-in map editor, and single-player and multiplayer modes. Multiplayer scenarios can be played by two players through Slitherine’s PBEM server.
