Team-based 2D fighting

The King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition is a 2D versus fighting game. Choose a default team of three fighters or build your own team, then battle other teams. The roster has 36 characters, including Iori with the Power of Flames, NESTS Style Kyo and Mr. Karate, playable from the start.

Story and training modes

In Story Mode, follow Ash Crimson and other characters as you uncover background stories connected to the Ash Saga. Your choices and battle results can reveal different story elements. Tutorial Mode introduces basic techniques and explains the gauges. Mission Mode includes Time Attack, Survival and character-specific Trial tasks focused mainly on combos.
