Coordinate an escape through complementary skills

The Stone of Madness is a real-time tactical stealth game set in an 18th-century Spanish monastery in the Pyrenees. You alternate control of 5 prisoners, combining their upgradable abilities to search for clues and tools, distract guards, assassinate targets or reach otherwise difficult areas. Its 2 campaigns have distinct stories, objectives and special characters, giving the escape plans different contexts rather than simply repeating the same objectives.

Manage sanity alongside the passing hours

Each prisoner's traumas and phobias affect how you navigate the monastery. Triggering them reduces sanity and can lead to traumatic events with effects such as paranoia or bouts of violence, changing how that character is played. Time also runs continuously: daylight suits exploration and gathering materials while guards are more easily distracted. Evening brings paranormal threats to sanity, and venturing out after curfew means tighter security. Night offers an opportunity to plan and manage the escape instead.
