The Stone of Madness is a real-time tactical stealth game set in an 18th-century Spanish monastery in the Pyrenees. Five prisoners pool their skills and resources to confront their phobias, uncover the monastery’s mysteries and find a way to escape. Take turns controlling Agnes, Leonora, Eduardo, Amelia and Alfredo, using their distinct, upgradeable skills to cast spells, assassinate targets, distract enemies, stun spirits and reach hard-to-access areas.

Manage time, danger and sanity

Search the monastery for clues and tools, and watch where each character goes: guards may catch prisoners in restricted areas. Each character’s traumas and phobias affect their mental health; triggering them drains sanity and can cause events such as paranoia, dementia or bouts of violence that change how that character plays. Time passes continuously. Daylight offers chances to sneak, explore and gather materials while guards are distracted; after evening falls, paranormal inhabitants threaten the characters’ sanity. At night, plan the escape, but beware tighter security after curfew.

Two campaigns and the offer

Choose between two campaigns, each with its own story, objectives and special characters. The game uses an isometric perspective, with hand-painted visuals animated frame by frame and inspired by 18th-century artist Francisco de Goya.
