About this DLC

Offer and requirement

Total War: SHOGUN 2 - Otomo Clan Pack is downloadable content delivered as a digital gift for Steam, with the offer labelled Region Free. Requires the base game Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam.

Play as the Otomo clan

Add the Otomo as a playable faction in single-player or multiplayer Campaign modes, Custom Battles and Multiplayer Battles. An early alliance with Portuguese traders brings economic and military advantages, while Catholicism flourishes in Otomo territory. The Master Gunners clan trait makes gunpowder units 10% cheaper to recruit, reduces missionary-action costs by 15%, improves conversion to the clan religion by 2, and speeds up Matchlock Ashigaru imports by 3.

New units and buildings

Field Portuguese Tercos with matchlock rifles and swords, Otomo Donderbuss Cavalry, Matchlock Ashigaru and Matchlock Samurai, or take to the sea with Matchlock Kobaya. The pack also adds leased land: one building slot per city can be handed to Portuguese control in exchange for a large sum of money. A Jesuit building chain—Hospital, Jesuit Seminary and Jesuit College—replaces the Chapel chain of Mission, Church and Cathedral. Its buildings progressively support Christian conversion, unit replenishment, economic growth and Christian-population happiness, while advancing mastery of the arts and helping a besieged army in the same castle town hold out longer.
