What the September 20 correction changes

Our September 11 article repeated a Game Rant excerpt hosted on Steam News. The stored source concerns a reported giveaway before delisting, but our article never supplied the game’s name or a specific Steam app page. That missing information makes the old instructions insufficient for a reader to check the offer. Hosting a press excerpt on Steam News does not turn it into an announcement by the game’s developer.

We have removed the urgency to claim it now and the unsupported assurance that every reader would retain permanent access. We are keeping this URL and the original publication date so readers following an older link can understand what changed. The correction date is separate from the date of the original report. This notice does not establish that the game was removed, remains free, or can still be obtained elsewhere.

How to check an offer you previously claimed

Use the intended Steam account and look for the exact title in your library and account records. If you find a receipt or an app link, compare its identity with the publisher’s current announcement. Do not substitute a similarly named game or assume that a free weekend grants a permanent licence. If the title or entitlement cannot be established, ask Steam Support with your own account evidence; do not post passwords or redemption codes publicly.
