Can I split this 50 USD code between two accounts?

No. The full value is added to the account that redeems the code, and Microsoft does not allow that balance to be transferred to another account. For a gift, do not redeem it on your own account first. Check the recipient’s eligibility before buying.

Do I have to spend all the credit immediately?

Microsoft says non-promotional balance does not expire; promotional credit may have its own dates. You can plan several eligible purchases instead of spending the whole amount at once. This rule about redeemed balance does not replace the conditions of an unused code.

What would remain after a purchase costing more than 50 USD?

Hypothetical example: you have 15 USD and want to pay a 62 USD total. You need another 47 USD; a compatible 50 USD card leaves 3 USD after purchase. Recalculate using the final total shown on your account. This example advertises neither a real price nor a number of Game Pass months.
