Nintendo Account country: checks before changing your eShop region

Nintendo provides a country setting on the account website under User Information and Profile. A remaining eShop balance, automatic renewal or an outstanding pre-order may prevent a change. Read the notice shown for your account before confirming; changing a console’s display language is not the same task.

Take stock before touching the setting

Record the current account country, balance and any active purchases you still need to receive. Decide why a change is necessary. A move to a new residence is a different situation from finding a discounted foreign card. Do not buy that card first and assume the account can be adjusted afterwards. For Tunisian shoppers, our checkout currency does not determine Nintendo account eligibility.

Change residence country on an eligible Nintendo Account

1. Sign in at accounts.nintendo.com and verify the account identity and whether it is supervised.
2. Open User Information, then Edit in Profile and locate Country/region of residence.
3. Before selecting your actual new residence, record eShop balance, automatic renewals and unreleased pre-orders, which can block a change.
4. If eligible, choose the country, save and read the displayed consequences before agreeing.
5. For a block, address only the stated cause through Nintendo’s corresponding procedure. Do not assume balance transfer or automatic cancellation.
6. Sign back into eShop if requested and verify country and available services before buying another card.

Do not turn a blocked setting into an unnecessary purchase

Suppose a country-change screen reports a balance problem. The next step is to understand that message, not to buy another top-up or spend money merely to make an error disappear. If renewal or a pre-order is involved, consider whether changing it would disrupt something you still want. Contact Nintendo if the effect on a child or family account is unclear.

Keep these questions separate

• Is the issue the account country or a particular code being refused?
• Are you buying a game, an expansion, store credit or a subscription?
• Does the intended game or add-on match your device and existing base game?
• Does an unresolved balance, renewal or pre-order need Nintendo support before any change?

No account shortcuts or compatibility promises

Do not enter fictitious residence details or hand over a Nintendo password to obtain a cheaper offer. Keep your account email and verification methods under your control. Support screenshots should hide full codes, personal addresses and payment details. This guide does not promise that switching country transfers every benefit or makes a previously incompatible offer usable.

Supervised accounts need the responsible adult

Nintendo restricts individual country changes for certain supervised accounts. A family-group change may affect associated accounts and require extra checks. The responsible adult should read the complete message; changing a birth date is not an appropriate workaround.

Balance, renewal and pre-order are distinct checks. Make a record before adjusting settings so an outstanding commitment is not overlooked. Ask Nintendo when the message does not explain a safe resolution.

Verify eligibility again after a change

Match the account country to the intended card, not simply the eShop language. Also verify console, base-game requirements for DLC and service availability. eShop credit is not a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

If you simply want a game from Tunisia, changing the account may be unnecessary. First inspect offers compatible with your existing situation and retain control of your own sign-in credentials.
