Fortnite purchases and progress belong to the Epic Games account holding them. Linking a console to another account does not merge two inventories. If items disappear from view, identify the original account first. Buying currency or repeatedly unlinking accounts is not a reliable way to diagnose the problem.
Keep a safe reference point
On the device where the expected progress still appears, note the display name and a few recognisable items or milestones. Keep order references privately. Do not publish email addresses, sign-in codes or complete receipts. You are collecting enough information to recognise the account, not handing someone the credentials needed to control it.
Check identities without unlinking
- Sign out of existing Epic browser sessions to avoid inspecting an unrelated account.
- Visit the official Epic Games site and sign in using the platform you already play on.
- Inspect the resulting Epic identity and Linked accounts page. Compare the connected console with the one holding your game.
- If you also play on PC, inspect that identity separately without pressing Unlink.
- Before a new connection, confirm which Epic account should retain the progress. Stop if the platform is linked elsewhere or a warning says access will change.
- After a connection you understand and intend, open Fortnite on the relevant device and verify expected items before buying anything else.
An empty account is not proof of deletion
A console connected to Account B can show B’s progress while the wanted items remain on Account A. Epic does not merge Fortnite progress from two accounts. Launching after unlinking can also create a new empty account. Identify the original account instead of treating each new screen as a reason for another change.
Stop and use official support when
- You cannot identify the account holding the main inventory.
- You have lost the account email and cannot establish ownership.
- The platform is already connected or a linking restriction appears.
- You find an unfamiliar connection or an unrequested account change.
Unlinking is not a general repair button
Epic warns against improvised unlinking because console access and future linking eligibility can change. Do not accept a warning merely to see what happens. For an inaccessible account, follow official account recovery. No shop product can merge two inventories or override the account provider’s restrictions.
Prepare a useful support request
Explain which device still shows the progress, which device does not, approximately when this changed and the exact message. A cropped error image is more useful and safer than a complete account-settings screenshot. Never give a one-time code to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
For a TuniGamers order, distinguish delivery of the code, product compatibility and use of the wrong Epic identity. Retain the order reference and listing URL. Confirm that the correct inventory is visible before redeeming another product. A successful purchase on the wrong identity does not repair the earlier access problem, and repeating purchases makes the situation harder to untangle.
Read about keys, accounts and gifts, then check console product conditions and our player guides.
Frequently asked questions
Can I merge two Fortnite accounts?
Epic says Fortnite progress from two accounts cannot be merged.
Do missing skins always mean deletion?
No. You may be viewing another Epic account; identify the original one first.
Should I unlink and relink as a test?
No. Inspect accounts and warnings first, and use official support when the situation is unclear.
