An individual Nintendo Switch Online membership covers one account. A family membership covers up to eight Nintendo Accounts in the same family group. Count accounts, not consoles, and identify the games and benefits you actually need before selecting a code.
List the people and accounts first
Write down which Nintendo Account belongs to each player profile. Two children sharing a console may use different accounts, while one player may use more than one console. Identify the family administrator and the membership purchaser; these roles need not be the same person. Never replace this account check with a shared password or a stranger’s login.
Check the group and invite the intended member
- Visit accounts.nintendo.com directly and sign in as the family administrator.
- Open Family group and review its existing members.
- Use Add a member and the invitation option with the intended person’s Nintendo Account email and permission.
- Let that person accept using their own account, then confirm membership in the group.
- Check the actual subscription, expiry and renewal on the purchasing account. An invitation alone is not a subscription purchase.
- On the console, select the intended profile and check that the service recognises its coverage.
Check the transition instead of assuming time stacks
Individual and family membership time cannot simply be added together. A covered family member may be unable to redeem an individual code. Review Nintendo’s current plan-change rules and any existing recurring billing before buying. If the purchaser leaves the family group, other members can lose the coverage that depended on that subscription.
Common buying mistakes
- Assuming local console profiles automatically belong to a Nintendo family group.
- Buying eShop credit when you need a subscription code.
- Treating Expansion Pack benefits as permanent ownership of every included game.
- Assuming payment in Tunisian dinars overrides a code’s account-country or service restrictions.
Check saves game by game
Save Data Cloud does not cover every title. Animal Crossing: New Horizons and some Pokémon titles require particular attention. Check the exact title’s support page. In System Settings > Data Management > Save Data Cloud, select the correct user and game, then compare backup dates before downloading anything that might replace newer progress.
A practical checklist before replacing a console
Pick three games whose progress matters most. Confirm their backup or transfer procedure individually, and test the progress on the new console before resetting the old one. Having downloaded game files on a memory card does not establish that you have protected the saves. A procedure for one title may be inappropriate for another.
For a purchase from Tunisia, compare the specific benefits, duration and receiving account rather than a foreign advertised per-person price. Ask about an unclear listing before revealing or redeeming its code. Support can discuss the product URL and account country without needing a password, verification code or family member’s private information.
Browse Nintendo products, read the Nintendo account-country guide and use our player guides for further checks.
